Youth group urges school administrators to allot ‘viewing time’ for students to witness Lozada testimony, Senate hearings

Youth group Anakbayan today urged school administrators to allot ‘viewing sessions’ for students in light of star witness Rodolfo ‘Jun’ Lozada’s testimonies in the Senate hearings.

Anakbayan chairperson Eleanor de Guzman said that youth and students are expressing an overwhelming interest and concern in this latest political development and view Lozada as a credible source of information.

“Mr. Lozada has so far met our expectations and seems consistent in his resolve to tell all with no holds barred. For this we reiterate our support and admiration for him and vow to ensure that his statements not be confined to Senate hearings alone but be disseminated to our fellow youth and students who have every right to know what is going on,” said Anakbayan chairperson Eleanor de Guzman.

“It is true that he has nothing to lose. Unlike Abalos, JDV even or all other past whistle-blowers, his candid demeanor and consistent statements somehow gained him the trust and sympathy of youth and students,” de Guzman said.

“In connection with this we ask school administrators to provide venues for students to witness the unfolding of this major political event and to be able to discuss with them and encourage them to voice out their views as citizens,” de Guzman said.

Anakbayan joined other people’s organizations and civil society groups in staging a Black Friday Protest at the Senate grounds today. ###
